Holy Week Retreat

On Wednesday, April 20 KCSS students (K-8) gathered in the afternoon at the Holy Cross Campus for a Holy Week Retreat. We started together with prayer before going to 4 different stations throughout the school building. Afterwards, the fifth grade students led their class mates in silence to the gym for a final prayer and reenactment of the Last Supper.

Renewed Energy with Field Trips


Million Child Challenge


Mrs. Grootemont from East Savings Bank came to Holy Cross. she came as part of the Million Child Challenge to teach children how to save money. She read a wonderful story to third graders all about the importance of saving money. Afterwards she presented each student with a certificate of participation.

Special Visitor, Cookie an Alaskan Husky






The 8th graders at Holy Cross once again followed the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race in Mrs. Opsteen-Van Dyke;s language arts class. As it happens every year, a few students declared that some day they would like to try mushing too. well, 8th graders recently had the opportunity to meet a former students of Mrs. OVD's that did just that. Alisha and her dog Cookie came and spoke to the students about her adventures giving sled dog tours in New Hampshire and Alaska. While in Alaska last summer Alisha had the opportunity to run Iditarod champion Martin Buser's dogs on Mendenhall Glacier. The 8th graders enjoyed seeing the pictures of her adventures and meeting retired sled dog,Cookie.

Preschool & Pre-K Beach Day



Yellow Brick Road


Kindergartners from St. Aloysius visited AMC to learn about hospitals through the Yellow Brick Road program.

Paper Express at 1000 Islands Environmental Center


Third graders learned how to make paper which was a unique experience for them. They were able to make little booklets from their paper and take them home to show their family!

Junior Achievement

The third grade at Holy Cross recently completed their Junior Achievement sessions. The program was taught by Mrs. Schumacher. She taught them things like how to plan a city, how to start a business, how to start a newspaper, and how to handle money. The students enjoyed the fun activities and didn't want the program to end!

Career Day for 8th Grade

The 8th grade class of Holy Cross Campus went to Player's Choice for Career Day. This was a terrific opportunity for the 8th grade to hear from persons in different fields as to what type of education they would need as an employee.

Trip to Madison

The 4th grade students of Holy Cross Campus recently visited the State Capital in Madison.
